Update

Here's the latest:

1.  Pastor Chun, the man who started the Underground Railroad from North Korea to Thailand, and Ms. Kim, a 23-year-old woman who made the 6000 mile journey to freedom, came to our school last week.  Ms. Kim's speech was very moving, and I felt very fortunate to be able to hear someone speak first hand about her experiences.  I wish I had more time to recount all she said, but by now you should realize that I never have any time for anything.  But here was my favorite part:

TAS Student:  "Ms. Kim, now that you have gotten out of North Korea and had time to adapt to and understand another way of life in South Korea, how to do you feel about North Korea and Kim Jong-il?"

Ms. Kim:  "I love North Korea, but I hate Kim Jong-il."

2.  I have written 26 of my 72 comments, and it took me about 4 hours to do so.  I am hoping to speed up the process now that I have the hang of it.  My goal is to be finished by 3:30pm Tuesday.  Right now, I think it will happen, so long as I spend about 3 hours on it at school tomorrow (Sunday) after the Cambodia meeting.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have the motivation and the stamina to do it!

3.  I leave for the EARCOS conference in Borneo on Wednesday.  I return Sunday and leave the following Saturday for Cambodia.  I've borrowed a sleeping mat and a back pack.  The trip to Angkor Wat is up in the air again, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it happens.

4.  I'm about 90% sure I'll be going to an IB conference in New Mexico this summer.  My hope is to teach IBSL English Year 1 next year.  I've fallen in love with the IB program and feel it is the direction in which I'd like to take my teaching.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get both the class and the training.

5.  Maggie and I recently booked a trip to Japan in early June.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that we're still able to go.  In the meantime, I'm praying for Japan.  So sad.

Looks like I'm keeping my fingers crossed about a lot of stuff in the near future.  I'll feel much better when I can uncross my fingers.
