Back to School
Well, I finished my first week of the 2011-2012 school year. The verdict? I am actually happy to be back at work. It was so nice to reconnect with my friends and hear about their summers. On top of that, I'm really excited about the courses I'm teaching and my extra-curricular involvements. I'll be leading the service trip to Cambodia, Assistant Directing our fall production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, sponsoring the Cooking for a Cause club, and I'm on the teacher council for National Honor Society (clearly you don't have to have been in NHS to be on the teacher council...hahahaha!!!).
Of course, I always worry about the amount of work I'll have to do; certainly IB is going to take a lot of my time. And already I'm dreading the comments in March (ugh!). But I have to say that it is such a relief to not be new anymore. Everything is so much easier this time around. It's not that there is less work; it's just so much easier to do it.
In all, coming back to Taipei and going back to school has been easier and more enjoyable than I had anticipated. Maybe Year 2 will be a success after all!!!
